At Reela, we believe your memories belong to you. Our approach to privacy is as transparent as an old-school viewfinder: we only collect what’s necessary to make your event magic happen.

Data Collection

We collect minimal information to provide the Reela experience:

  • Account Information: For Hosts, we collect an email address and name to manage billing and event creation.
  • Guest Data: We do not require guests to create accounts. We use temporary device identifiers only to associate photos with the correct event.
  • Photo Metadata: We store timestamps to ensure photos reveal at the correct time. Location data is only stored if you explicitly enable it for "Event Map" features.

Guest Privacy

Guests are the heart of the Reela experience. We've designed the app to be friction-free and privacy-first:

  • No signup required for guests to join an event.
  • Photos are stored securely and encrypted until the 'Reveal' moment.
  • Guests can request their photos be deleted at any time by contacting the Event Host.

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used exclusively to power the Reela app. We never sell your personal information or photo content to third parties. We don't use your event photos for training AI models or for advertising purposes.

Terms of Service

By using Reela, you're agreeing to play by the rules. We keep it simple so you can get back to the party.

Host Responsibilities

As an event host, you are the "curator" of your digital gallery. This means:

  • You are responsible for the content uploaded by your guests.
  • You have the power to moderate and delete photos from your event gallery.
  • You must ensure that your guests are aware that photos will be shared in a shared gallery at the reveal time.

Acceptable Use

We're all about good vibes. Users are prohibited from using Reela to capture or share content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, or violates someone else's privacy. We reserve the right to shut down events that violate these standards.

Service Availability

While we strive for 100% uptime, Reela is provided "as is." We aren't liable for any lost photos due to technical glitches, though our "Works Offline" mode is designed specifically to prevent this.

Payments and Refunds

Upgrades are billed per event. If your event is canceled and you haven't started "shooting" yet, contact us for a full refund or a credit for your next gathering.
